The teaching staff of the department provides the translation for the direction of the academy, faculties, departments of NMAPE. As a part of the cooperation with the Department of International Relations and Scientific and Pedagogical Work with Foreign Nations the members of the department perform translations of certificates, diplomas, newsletters. As a part of the cooperation with the Scientific Department of the Academy the staff members of the department are engaged in the translation of the materials for the annual academic publication “Zbirnyk Naukovykh Prats’ Spivrobitnykiv NMAPO imeni P. L. Shupyka” (Collected Papers of the Staff Members of NMAPE).

The educational and methodological work of the department is aimed at optimizing the educational process, investigating the present concepts of foreign language teaching.

The teaching staff members deal with the improvement of the methods of teaching foreign languages. They use the up-to-date educational technologies, new methods of the presentation and mastering of vocabulary and grammar material, which greatly shorten the duration of studying the foreign language.

The following thematic advanced training courses are conducted at the Department: English for Postgraduates, English for the Teaching Staff.

To enter the master’s and postgraduate courses the applicants should pass the entrance exams in English, French, German, Russian (for foreigners) at the Department. The staff members provide training for foreign postgraduate students with higher medical education who intend to take qualifying examinations for the Candidate’s degree in Russian.

In 2017 there started the first-ever course of advanced curriculum in English (624 hours) “LECTURERS’ ADVANCED TRAINING”. The mission of the course is to improve foreign language communicative competence of medical professionals taking into account challenges of further work on international health programmes, participation in international conferences, forums in health care system, as well as teaching foreign students.
