Professor, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Head of Pediatric Infectious Diseases and Pediatric Immunology Department of Shupyk NMAPE since 2016.

Graduated from the National Medical University named Bogomoletz O.O. (Kyiv, Ukraine) in 1983, conducted clinical and research fellow program in Pediatric Department of the University.

Since 1993 –assistant-professor, since 1996 – associate-professor of Pediatric Infectious Diseases and Pediatric Immunology Department of Shupyk NMAPE. She spent training periods in Universities of Canada, Israel, Austria and the Great Britain.

She received degree of D.M.Sc in the field of primary antibody deficiency in 2009. Since 2012 - professor of Pediatric Infectious Diseases and Pediatric Immunology Department.

Author of 160 works, editor of national textbook "Children's Immunology”, co-author of national textbooks "Children's Infectious Diseases", Pediatrics", teaching manual "Immunoprophylaxis of infectious diseases”. Prof. Alla Volokha’s main scientific interest is in the field of primary immunodeficiency, immunoprophylaxis of infectious diseases and HIV infection in children.

Professor Alla Volokha is member of the European Society of Infectious Infectious Diseases (ESPID), the European Society for Primary Immunodeficiencies (ESID), Pediatric Network of Treatment of AIDS and  Infectious Diseases (PENTA-id), the organizing committee for the project on the primary immune deficiency in children "J-project" in Central and Eastern Europe. Board member of NGO Ukrainian Association of Pediatric Immunology.

Honored Doctor of Ukraine (2011), Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor of Pediatric Infectious Diseases and Pediatric Immunology Department of Shupyk NMAPE (founder of the Department, head of this Department in 1992-2016). 

Professor Chernyshova L.I. - President of the Ukrainian Association of Pediatric Immunology, member of 2 European Scholarly Societies: Infectious Diseases and Immunodeficiencies, author of more than 300 scientific papers (Hirsch index - 11). 

Edited by Professor L. I. Chernyshova national textbook "Children's Immunology", a national textbook "Infectious diseases in children", a teaching manual "Immunoprophylaxis of infectious diseases" were published in Ukraine. She is the author of 5 monographs, the author of sections in the national textbook on pediatric infections for students, the national textbooks for physicians "Pediatrics" and "Neonatology". Professor Chernyshova L. I. formed scientific school and prepared 4 doctors of medical sciences and 11 candidates of medical sciences. The main areas of her scientific activity are primary immunodeficiency, infectious diseases in children, immune prophylaxis of infectious diseases. She is National Coordinator of the Study on Rotavirus Infection in Ukraine under the WHO Program from 2006 to the present. She was awarded with the Diploma of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Honorary Diploma of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the medal "For Work and Victory"." For active participation in the East-Central European project on primary immunodeficiencies - J-Project she was awarded by the medal of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (2010).


Doctor of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor

Graduated from the National Medical University (Kyiv, Ukraine) in 2000. In 2001 received the Degree of Magister of Medicine after studying at the magistracy at the Department of Pediatric Infectious Diseases and Pediatric Immunology of the Shupyk NMAPE. In 2001-2005 was acting as a post-graduate student at the Department of Pediatric Infectious Diseases and Pediatric Immunology. Research work “Age-dependent peculiarities of meningitis in children (etiology, epidemiology, clinical features, diagnostics)”.

Teaching experience since 2005, since 2012 - as an Associate Professor.

In September 2016 she defended her doctoral dissertation with the topic "Diagnosis and medical and social support of primary immunodeficiencies in children". Has over 60 publications. Co-author of national textbooks "Children's Immunology", "Pediatrics", "Children's Infectious Diseases".

The fields of scientific research include pneumococcal and hemophilic infections in children and their immune prophylaxis; primary immunodeficiencies in children, improvement of diagnostics of primary immunodeficiencies, a register of patients with primary immunodeficiencies.

Anastasiia Bondarenko is responsible for the scientific work in the Department.

Member of the European Society for Primary Immunodeficiencies (ESID), member of the Society of Clinical Immunologists (CIS), the Steering Committee member of the Central-Eastern European International Education Project J-project. Board Member of the of NGO "Ukrainian Association of Pediatric Immunology" and NGO "Rare Immune Diseases".


PhD, Associate Professor

Graduated from the National Medical University in 1998, specialty - "Medicine".

Fellowship at the Department of Pediatric Infectious Diseases and Pediatric Immunology NMAPE after named PL Shupika, 1999-2002. The theme of the PhD work: "Study of health effects and local protection factors on the formation of a specific immune response when vaccinated with oral poliovirus vaccine in children"

Educational experience since 2002, as associate professor has worked since 2008

2012-2014 - Secretary of the National Technical Expert Group on Immunoprophylaxis. Since 2016 - member of the National Technical Group of Experts on Immunization.

Author of more than 40 publications, co-author of the textbook "Actual questions of vaccine prevention of infectious diseases in children", national textbooks "Children's immunology" and "Children's infectious diseases", teaching manual "Immunoprophylaxis of infectious diseases".

Member of the European Society of Pediatric Infectious Diseases (ESPID), member of the Board of NGO "All-Ukrainian Association of Pediatric Immunology".


Yuriy Stepanovskyy, Ph.D., M.D., Associate Professor

Graduated from Danylo Halytsky Lviv National Medical University in 2004. Сlinical residency at the Department of Pediatrics №1 of Shupyk National Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education.

Current position is assistant professor of the Department of Pediatric Infectious Diseases and Pediatric Immunology of the NMAPE named after P. L. Shupyk.

In 2014 he completed his Ph.D. thesis "Clinical and immunological criteria for predicting the rate of HIV-infection’s progression in children".  Scholarship at the National Institute of Human Genome Research, Bethesda, MD, USA in 2015 and 2018 (autoinflammatory diseases)

Teaching experience since 2008.

Stepanovskyy has 20 printed works, co-author of textbooks "Pediatric Immunology", "Pediatric Infectious Diseases" and “Immunoprophylaxis of infectious diseases”. Responsible for clinical and diagnostic work at the department.

Professional interests: primary immunodeficiencies, autoinflammatory diseases, fever of unknown origin in children, Kawasaki disease.

Executive Director of the Ukrainian Association of Pediatric Immunology, member of the NGO "Rare Immune Diseases".

Proficiency in French and English.


PhD, assistant

Graduated from the Bogomolets National Medical University in 2008 on the specialty "Pediatrics". Work experience in specialty is 10 years.

Studied in the magistracy and graduate school at the Department of Pediatric Infectious Diseases and Pediatric Immunology of the Shupyk National Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education. Subject of the candidate's dissertation "Medical and social aspects of nasopharyngeal carriage of pneumococci in children under 5 years of age" (2016). Works at the Department of Pediatric Infectious Diseases and Pediatric Immunology as Assistant-Professor since 2014. Curator of the Specialization in Pediatric Immunology. Basic directions of scientific and teaching activity – management of patients with primary immunodeficiency, vaccine prophylaxis of infectious diseases, pneumococcal infection in children.

Has 27 printed works, co-author of the national textbook "Children's Infectious Diseases" and teaching manual "Immunoprophylaxis of infectious diseases".

Member of the Board of NGO "Ukrainian Association of Pediatric Immunology" and NGO "Rare Immune Diseases".
